This is a simple browser-based utility that decreases the contrast in a Joint Photographic Experts Group (JPG/JPEG) picture. As soon as you paste a JPG/JPEG picture in the input area, the utility will make the contrast lower in the select area. You can select the contrast area in the preview using your mouse or set it using options. The new contrast value can range from 99% to 0%. Created by mad scientists from team Browserling.
This online tool decreases the contrast in JPG, JPEG, and JPEG2000 pictures. Decreasing the contrast is often needed when you want to get a photo with calmer color tones. This program is able to dim the bright and vivid colors and make the picture more color-neutral. You can lower the contrast in any rectangular region. As soon as you upload a JPG to the input, interactive resizers will appear in the preview, which you can use to change the contrast area. Also, you can use the exact position and size parameters of this area in the options. If you need to stretch either side to the full height or width of the picture, just leave the corresponding width/height parameter fields empty. We made it so that the new contrast can be set without much thinking – you just need to specify the new contrast percentage value. The original photo has 100% contrast and to reduce it, you can use values smaller than 100%, such as 90% or 60%. Jpgabulous!
In this example, we decrease the contrast for the entire JPEG picture of a heron. We set the new contrast to 80% (which means the contrast is reduced by 20%) and leave the contrast area parameters blank to cover the entire width and height of the picture. (Source: Pexels.)
In this example, we're working with a macro JPG photo of water drops on a leaf. We select a rectangle in the middle of the JPG using the interactive resizers in the input field and reduce the contrast in this area by 35%. As you can see in the output field, the pixels in the center have lost color and look more grayish but the pixels around the sides maintain the original contrast. (Source: Pexels.)
In this example, we split a JPG/JPEG image of fresh berries into two parts. In the bottom part of the image, we maintain the original contrast at 100% but in the upper part of the image, we set the contrast to be 70%, which is a 30% decrease from the bottom. (Source: Pexels.)
