This online tool adds borders of any color around JPG photos. Border can be added on the inside, outside, or center of a JPG. Adding a border on the outside increases JPG graphics file's dimensions by twice the border's width. Adding a border in the center increases JPG graphics file's dimensions by one border's width. Adding a border on the inside doesn't change JPG graphics file's dimensions. It also supports semi-transparent borders. To draw semi-transparent borders use the rgba(R, G, B, Transparency %) color format. For example rgba(255, 0, 0, 0.5) will draw a 50% transparent red border. As JPGs don't support transparency, semi-transparent borders will be drawn on a white background. Also, you can control which edge the border will be added to. This example adds a blue border on the inside of a JPEG image. The border's width is set to 50 pixels and as you can see, the arrow in the image gets covered by the border and JPG's dimensions don't change.
In this example, we also add an inside border but this time we target only the top and bottom edges of a motivational JPG picture made from scrabble letters. The borders' color is set to hex code #e4019a which is a tone of the pink color and the size is set to 15px. (Source: Pexels.)
This example adds a green border on the outside of a JPG file. The width is set to 40 pixels. As the border is positioned outside of the JPG, it does not cover the arrow but it changes the JPG's size by 80px in width and height (which is twice the border's width).
In this example, we load a close-up JPG photo of a cactus and its tiny child-cactus and add two vertical green stripes on the sides. The vertical stripes use the RGB color code RGB(66, 80, 44) to set their color and the stripes have a width of 30 pixels. (Source: Pexels.)
This example adds a pinkish translucent border around a JPG/JPEG picture of a pretty orange/yellow flower. As JPG/JPEG has no concept of translucency, we emulate it by making JPG/JPEG's background color white and then drawing the border on top of it. The border itself uses the alpha channel value of 0.8, which makes it 20% transparent (and 80% opaque). The border is drawn in the center of the JPG/JPEG's edges, which puts 15 pixels outside of the JPG/JPEG and 15 pixels inside. (Source: Pexels.)
