In this example, we wanted to add the name to a JPG photo of our original brownie dessert so we created an area for the caption below it. To make the caption stand out, we created a high-contrast base background for the text by darkening a rectangular region at the bottom of the photo. The dimmed area is 575 by 150 pixels in size and it's 50% darker than the original JPG. (Source: Pexels.)
In this example, we make only half of a JPG/JPEG image darker by 20 percent. We set the starting position of the region in the options by entering the value 330px for the left-offset position, and we leave all other position and size parameters empty.
