This is a simple browser-based utility that extracts RGB color channels from Joint Photographic Experts Group (JPG/JPEG) pictures. As soon as you paste a JPG/JPEG picture in the input area, the utility will extract its red, green, and blue channels. You can choose which individual channels to extract in the options and also activate the grayscale mode. Created by mad scientists from team Browserling.

With this online utility, you can extract individual RGB color channels from JPG/JPEG photos. Color channels are layers of primary colors that are composited to create a full-color picture. The RGB color model is designed to work with high-quality digital photographs and contains three colors "Red", "Green", and "Blue". These colors are added together (RGB color model is an additive color model) to display pictures and graphics on computer monitors. In the options, you can find three checkboxes that will let you separate all three of these base color layers. You can toggle R (red), G (green), and B (blue) channels and immediately see them in the output window. By clicking the Save as button, you can also download them as a new JPG that contains just that channel. Additionally, you can activate the "Display RGB in Gray Tones" mode and view the intensities of RGB channels in the grayscale spectrum. Jpgabulous!

In this example, we extract the green color channel from a JPEG image of a cat. As we only selected the green channel, the red and blue channels aren't shown, and the JPEG is shown in all shades of green. Regions with more black color and less green color mean that the green color isn't present there and the bright green regions mean that there's a lot of green pixels there. (Source: Pexels.)
This example decomposes a full-color JPG photo of a fern into three single-channel photos. The left photo shows the "red" channel, the middle photo shows the "green" channel, and the right photo shows the "blue" channel. (Source: Pexels.)
In this example, we load a bird JPG/JPEG picture in the input and extract the "red" and "blue" channels from it. We also turn on the grayscale option that shows the intensity of each channel using the white-to-black color spectrum. The white areas contain high amounts of color and the black areas don't contain any color. (Source: Pexels.)
