This online program renames JPEG files with the extension ".jpeg" to JPG files with the extension ".jpg". Both files – JPEG and JPG – are actually the same, the only difference is the extension. The reason why there are two different extensions is historic. When the JPEG photo format was created, early Microsoft Windows versions allowed only three-letter file extensions, so it was abbreviated to ".jpg". However, on Mac and Linux, there was no such extension limit and they used the full extension ".jpeg". For your convenience, we have also added an option to this utility that lets you update the visual compression level of the output JPG. Jpg-abulous!

In this example, we rename a JPEG photo with filename "flowers.jpeg" to "flowers.jpg". As you can see, the extension .jpeg was changed to .jpg. There were no other changes.
