This is a neat browser-based program that optimizes Joint Photographic Experts Group (JPG/JPEG) pictures. As soon as you paste your JPG/JPEG picture in the input area, the program will generate an optimized JPG/JPEG in the output area. You can adjust the optimization strength in the options, where 100% means maximum optimization, 0% means no optimization. Created by mad scientists from team Browserling.
This online tool optimizes JPG/JPEG format pictures. It uses an efficient JPG/JPEG optimization algorithm that can reduce the picture's size and quality to the optimal level. You can control the strength of the optimization in the options. The greater the optimization strength (80% – 100%), the smaller JPG/JPEG file size you will get. Conversely, the lower the optimization strength (0% – 20%), the larger JPG/JPEG file size you will get. To obtain the best quality/size ratio, it's best to use an optimization level between 20% and 40%. If you want the JPG/JPEG to be small in size and still pretty ok in quality, set the optimization level somewhere from 40% to 60%. If you don't care too much about the quality and want to get the minimum file size, use an optimization level from 60% to 100%. You can view the quality of the JPG/JPEG and check the presence of any artifacts in the preview. You can view and compare the output file size in the second block of options. Jpgabulous!
In this example, we set the optimization percentage level to 25%, which reduces the file size well and at the same time preserves the quality of the JPG photo of a sundae ice cream. In this example, we reduce the size of a JPEG picture of snowy trees two and a half times by using the optimization strength of 50%. The input JPEG has the size of 271.07kb and the output JPEG has the size of just 109.79kb, and it still has superb quality. (Source: Pexels.)
In this example, we apply the maximum optimization force to a JPG/JPEG image of dolphins. The optimization result is pretty incredible – the file size is reduced 17.7 times. The original JPG/JPEG is 59.01kb and the new JPG/JPEG is 3.33kb. However, this optimization leads to a huge loss of information and quality in the image, and as a result, there are a lot of rough pixels and artifacts, almost as if Zalgo visited this image.
